Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 6, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how O-61 Wines Store ("Ö-61", "we", "us") collects, uses and shares information when you visit o61wine.com (the "Site").

Our online store at shop.o61wine.com is operated on Shopify and has its own privacy policy. This policy does not cover purchases.

1. Age requirement

The Site is intended only for people of legal drinking age (21 or older in the United States). We ask you to confirm your age before entering. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21. If you believe a minor has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

2. Information we collect

We do not ask you to create an account, and the Site has no checkout. What we collect is limited to:

  • Age confirmation: A "yes" flag stored in your browser so you are not asked again. No birth date is collected. Source: You.
  • Poll votes: The option you choose, the date and time, your browser type, and a one-way scrambled (salted hash) version of your IP address. We do not store your IP address in readable form. Source: You and your browser.
  • Device and usage data: Pages visited, time on page, referring site, approximate location derived from IP, browser and device type. Source: Cookies and similar technologies (section 3).
  • Campaign data: The ad campaign or link that brought you to the Site (for example utm parameters), stored in your browser for up to 90 days. Source: Your browser.
  • Communications: Anything you send us when you contact us. Source: You.

3. Cookies, pixels and similar technologies

We and our partners use cookies, pixels and local storage on the Site:

  • Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC): Measure visits and how the Site is used. Your choices: Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
  • Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.): Measure the effectiveness of our ads on Facebook and Instagram and show you relevant ads. Your choices: Meta ad preferences and section 6 below.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile (Cloudflare, Inc.): Protect the poll from bots and abuse. Your choices: Required for the poll to work.
  • YouTube (Google LLC), privacy-enhanced mode: Play embedded videos; YouTube sets cookies only when you play a video. Your choices: Google privacy settings.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the Site may not work without them. You can also opt out of interest-based advertising from many companies at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org.

Do Not Track. Browsers' "Do Not Track" signals have no common standard, so we do not respond to them.

4. How we use information

  • To confirm you are of legal drinking age.
  • To run the poll, count votes and prevent repeated or automated voting.
  • To understand how the Site is used and improve it.
  • To measure and improve our advertising.
  • To respond to you when you contact us.
  • To keep the Site secure and comply with the law.

We do not use the information to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you.

5. How we share information

  • Service providers that host, secure and measure the Site (for example our hosting provider, Cloudflare and Google), only to provide those services to us.
  • Advertising partners (Meta), through the Meta Pixel described in section 3.
  • Our affiliates, including the companies that produce and import Ö-61 wines.
  • Legal and safety reasons, when required by law or to protect our rights, users or the public.
  • Business transfers, if Ö-61 is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.

We do not sell personal information for money. However, the use of the Meta Pixel for advertising may be considered "selling" or "sharing" personal information, or "targeted advertising", under some U.S. state privacy laws. You can opt out as described in section 6.

6. Your privacy choices and rights

Opt out of sharing and targeted advertising. To opt out, contact us using the details in section 10. You can also limit how Meta uses information for ads in your Meta ad preferences.

State privacy rights. Depending on where you live (including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas and other states with comprehensive privacy laws), you may have the right to:

  • know what personal information we collect, use and share, and get a copy of it;
  • correct inaccurate personal information;
  • delete personal information;
  • opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising;
  • not be discriminated against for exercising these rights;
  • appeal our decision if we decline your request, by replying to our response.

To make a request, contact us using the details in section 10. We will verify your request using the information you give us and respond within the time required by law (generally 45 days). You may use an authorized agent where the law allows it.

California "Shine the Light". We do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

7. Data retention

How long we keep information depends on why we collected it, our legal obligations, and the need to resolve disputes and enforce our policies.

  • Age confirmation and campaign data in your browser: Until you clear your browser storage (campaign data expires after 90 days).
  • Poll votes: As long as the poll is active and as needed to prevent repeated voting, then deleted or kept only as aggregated results.
  • Analytics data in Google Analytics: According to the retention period set in Google Analytics.
  • Messages you send us: As long as needed to answer you and for our legal obligations.
  • Privacy requests: 24 months, as records of compliance.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), security headers and restricted access to our servers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. International transfers

Ö-61 is part of a wine group with operations in Chile and the United States. Information may be processed in the United States, Chile and other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than where you live.
